Dog Mushing Tours

Your mushing trip in central Yukon will take you on a 140 km loop on ancient trails, traplines and newly pioneered routes. Driving your own team of well trained dogs, you will travel through silent forests, along winding creeks and over frozen lakes surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Anvil Range.

By nightfall, you will be cozily ensconced in a warm Arctic tent. Delicious homemade meals, partially produced in the garden of our Farm, will be served in a traditional Wall Tent and keep you well fueled for your adventure.

Our regular Yukon mushing package starts in Whitehorse and is 7 days long. We also offer shorter 6 and 5-day dog sledding tours.

Guests will drive or be driven to Faro (350 km) on one of the most scenic highways in the Yukon. You will be served a delicious home cooked dinner and spend the night at a comfortable B&B in Faro.

Meet Doug and his huskies. Learn to drive your sled on the beautiful trails around the Farm. Mush back to the B&B in Faro (18km) where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Mush to Moose Lake camp (30km). Beautiful scenery and a good trail, with just enough technical stretches to keep you alert, will make for a perfect dog sledding day.

Drive your team on a spectacular loop (25km) over remote lakes and old trails. This loop is very rarely travelled and this wide land will be all yours.

Explore pristine Caribou Valley and mush toward Blind Creek Valley (30km). Another day immersed in pristine wilderness.

Day 7

Mush back to the Farm. Trail conditions allowing we will take an alternate scenic route beneath the slopes of mighty Mount Mye(30 to 40 km). Dinner and night at the B&B.

After Breakfast you will drive/be driven back to Whitehorse.

Included

All meals once you arrive in Faro and until you depart ; two guides including Doug Hannah; one sled and dog team for each participant ; a clean sleeping bag; accommodation in a select B&B in Faro ; accommodation in an Arctic Oven Tent during the trip.

Not included

Transportation from Whitehorse and back. PAGKAGES INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION FROM WHITEHORSE AVAILABLE. PLEASE INQUIRE FOR CURRENT RATES. Lunch during your trip from Whitehorse to Faro and back. Personal clothing and equipment. We recommend you rent a "Musher's Clothing Package" in Whitehorse before you depart for your adventure.

Rates for the winter 2007-2008

Our regular Yukon mushing trip is 5 days long. We offer a shorter dog sledding tours based on the same program with less days spent off Moose Lake camp.
